Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri dixit is a popular Indian actress, best known for the films Beta Saajan and Hum Aapke Hain Koun and Beta Saajan. She was first known for her 1980s role in Tezaab, in which she co-starred with the veteran actor Anil Koopor. The next time she appeared on screen was in Dil along with Aamir. The daughter of a middle class family in Mumbai she started learning dance from a very young age. When she was young when she began to act, she was not successful as a lot of her movies were unsuccessful. She eventually found success and went on to become one of the top actresses in the Indian film business. Following her wedding, she took a brief time off from her acting career prior to returning. Recently, she was a key player in Gulaab Gang a movie about the struggles of women in India. Dixit won the film eight Filmfare Awards out of the fifteen nominations she received. Padma Shri is the fourth most prestigious civilian award in India. The award was also given to her by the social sector.
